Frequently Asked Questions
Life Insurance

What is life insurance?
Life insurance is based around a guaranteed payout for loved ones in case of death in exchange for premiums paid while you’re alive. Some policies have riders or other aspects that allow for payouts in case of critical, chronical, or even terminal illness.

What is a Term Life Insurance policy?
Term life insurance is a more affordable way to obtain life insurance coverage for a set period of time(example: 25 years). Learn more here.

Whole Life?
Whole life policies are designed to last the insured their whole life rather than a set time. Learn more here.

Is life insurance required?
Life insurance is one of the only coverages not required by law, but it does protect your spouse, children, dependents, business, mortgage, and more from loss. It is the only coverage that truly pays out to you and your family. You car insurance to pay the body shop and home owners to pay the contractors, life insurance pays out to you and your family.

Embark Financial

Who is Embark?
Embark Financial started out as a local life insurance brokerage founded by two best friends. They wanted to work in a field where they could really make a difference in the lives around them. Check out our about page here.

Why Embark?
Here at Embark we pride ourselves on truly putting the family first. We believe the needs of the individual and the family take precedent over everything else when looking for a policy. Operating as a brokerage allows us to do this. We work with over twenty different companies to ensure we have access to the correct policy for every situation. This enables our brokers to genuinely serve the clients they sit with.

Can I replace a current policy I have with Embark?
Depends on your current policy, and the state you live in. We would be happy to review what you currently have, but we would never want to replace a policy with one that has less value.

Applications

How do I apply for coverage?
Request Coverage Here or give us a call at 1-877-707-2911.
What happens when I apply for coverage?
The application goes to underwriters who review your request for coverage. They may ask for more information if something isn’t clear or even deny the application as a whole. They take into account many factors such as medical records, back ground, and actuarial statistics to determine if coverage can be issued.

Am I obligated or contractually bound to maintain my policy?
No. Life insurance is what we call a unilateral agreement. This just means only the insurer makes a legally enforceable promise to pay a claim. As long as you pay your premiums they are obligated to maintain the policy.
